Principal Designer Christina Tapp notes that it felt expressive without being loud. Fresh and optimistic, but grounded enough to wear every day. When the team saw it on the band and paired it with the hardware, it just clicked. Balanced, modern, and unmistakably Twelve South.
The Details That Make It
If you know us, you know we don't stop at picking a color and calling it done. Kelly saw early on that a two tone approach, pairing the lighter Sky with deeper navy hardware accents, would give the band something extra. From a distance, the look is clean and minimal. But up close, that contrast between the soft blue and the darker navy adds dimension and character. It's the kind of detail you might not notice right away, but once you do, it becomes one of your favorite things about the band.
The material plays a role in this too. Liquid silicone has a soft, matte surface that subtly diffuses color. On a lighter tone like Sky, that means the blue feels calm and understated rather than overly bright. It reads differently than it would on a screen or in a swatch.
